Asus Eee PC 1001P-MU17-PI 10.1-Inch Intel Atom Netbook Computer (Rose Pink)

Asus Eee PC 1001P-MU17-PI 10.1-Inch Intel Atom Netbook Computer (Rose Pink) Review

I am a college student who simply didn't want to bring her massive behemoth size school issued laptop to her classes. Instead I now have a light portable netbook that turns on quickly and has about three times the amount of battery life of my laptop. Quite simply I love this netbook. It does exactly what I needed it to do beyond my expectations.

However, this was after I got the complete Windows 7 package (with Microsoft Office and OneNote) installed on it instead of the horrible little Windows starter 7. Would I remotely like this netbook as much if it still had starter 7 on it? NO. However, for those of you who don't care about customization etc.. on your netbook, then maybe starter 7 won't bother you that much. Although I suggest to anyone to take off some of the ridiculous software that it came with as it's just junk that takes up space. Also, I got my software for free because I also owned a school issued laptop which I don't think is that unusual for public universities, so check to see what your school's policy on software is...

As far as hardware goes, this netbook is light and portable but feels solid. When you touch it, it doesn't feel cheap. The keyboard may take some getting used to but I find is really quite nice. I love the matte screen as opposed to the glossy crap which distorts colors that is so prevalent on newer netbooks. I removed the stickers at the bottom near the mouse pad just to give my netbook a cleaner look.

I suggest this for anyone buying a quality netbook (it's light, solid, easy to use, easily upgraded, has a battery life of about 7 hours, and looks good). Expect to upgrade the software though if you care about customization.
